Why can't we smell taste in Common Cold?
It happens because nose send signals of smell of food to brain by pulling too much tiny particles of food flying in the air. Brain compares this smell with the signals of taste coming from tongue. If the taste and smell fits right according to the brain then he gives the certificate of ‘tasty food’ to any food. In cold the nose doesn't do his job properly that’s why we don’t get smell.
